Friends of the Children is the only program in the nation that connects young children with paid, professional mentors for thirteen years.
Friends of the Children provides one-on-one mentoring relationships for the most at-risk children, from the time they enter kindergarten until high school graduation. The mentors help to uncover a child’s potential and build a lifelong foundation for success– through friendship, advocacy and education.

Meet Demarco*
Demarco is eleven years old, and in fourth grade. He lives with his mother and four year old brother in a small apartment. They often struggle to pay their bills and sometimes do not have enough money to put food on the table...
*the name of the child has been changed to protect his identity.
